I just read about the Ohio rally on another Medium post, and it was chilling and disturbing. That post included Trump speaking and the music that was playing under his speech, according to the narrator, was the Q'anon "theme", or something similar. There were thousands of people, standing with their arms raised, and 1 finger extended.

To most Americans, it looks for all intents and purposes like a Nazi salute. If you've ever attended an evangelical church service, it looks eerily like what many worshippers do, raising one or both arms. Either way, it's nauseating.

Trump can have all the rallies he wants. I really believe, as some of the other commenters do, that his power is diminishing. He's also in so much legal hot water, including the most recent turn of events with Judge Dearie saying "You can't have your cake and eat it too". Judge Cannon has ordered that Trump has to pay for all of the Judge's billable hours while he (and his clerks) comb through 11,000 documents. Lord knows what he charges per hour, but it won't come cheap. I've heard that Trump famously doesn't pay his legal expenses--this little trick could cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars, and he brought it on himself.

I am not as down on America and its citizens as you are, Bob. I still trust in the basic decency and intelligence of American men and women. If the January 6 hearings have revealed anything, it's that only a few sycophants in Trump's inner circle told him what he wanted to hear. The majority told him he was wrong. Officials did not do what he wanted--Brad Raffensperger is a great example.

There are always going to be people who follow (blindly) fringe ideologies--left and right. The Trump-followers are in the news because well--it's Trump, and the media just can't let anything go if it involves him. If they would just not report on him, he would just slither away.
